Why PCA Hybrid?

Unique Design Feature

PCA Hybrid is designed around two instructional models, (Blended Learning and Project-Based Learning), that provide an environment for students to be very proactively involved in the learning process. In addition, these instructional platforms are incorporated within a three day a week school classroom schedule and include a two day per week “satellite classroom” learning design.

The satellite learning days may be at home or at other locations that allow for continual learning to take place on the two days students are continuing to work outside our PCA Plano Campus. This well-designed, high quality instructional model allows students/families to have additional flexibility for their educational experience and overall family schedule.

Teachers provide academic activities during satellite learning days that are integrated into overall learning objectives. Parents or a designee provide age appropriate supervision and/or guidance during these days.

One primary focus of PCA Hybrid is  developing students to become more self-directed and take additional responsibility for their learning. This is often referred to as student agency.

To 5 Reasons Why Families Choose PCA Hybrid

1. Unique Design

PCA Hybrid curriculum is designed to maximize blended learning strategies to fit into a flexible student schedule.

2. Flexibility

The flexibility of satellite learning days provides students and families a different option for the weekly family schedule. This allows for additional commitments of time outside the regular school schedule.

3. Stewardship

Our hybrid program provides families with a financial option that may be a better fit for their stewardship plan.

4. Strength and Resources

PCA Hybrid utilizes the strength and resources of being within the PCA School System. This provides the element of confidence and support in a new model school.

5. Biblical Worldview

PCA Hybrid shares the same unwavering commitment of PCA School System to teach and lead from a Christian worldview. This includes biblical integration into all curricular and co-curricular programs.

What Makes PCA Distinctive?

To best equip our students for the world outside of their Christian home, PCA believes a strong partnership between the home, school and church, the basis for Kingdom education, is the foundation for educating the whole child. It is this partnership, working in synergy, that allows a student to fully develop into all that God has planned for them. It is PCA's desire that through a Christian, Liberal Arts education, students "grow in wisdom, stature and favor with both God and man" (Luke 2:52). Our fully biblically integrated curriculum, staff and student relationships and our Portrait of a Graduate all make Prestonwood Christian Academy a school of distinction.

Who are we?

Prestonwood Christian Academy is delighted to be recognized as an institution that does school differently. In Matthew 10:16, Jesus sent His disciples into the world with the statement, “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be shrewd as snakes and innocent as doves.” We believe Jesus’ command in Matthew was charging us to maintain a discerning attitude when dealing with circumstances we face in the world, and we strive to teach our students in a similar manner.
